This strip laminated omega boomerang was made out of Ash in 1998. It was marketed as the Oregon Hat. The center plies are Ash, but they are dyed orange to improve visibility in flight. The orange and clear strips are separated with thin veneers of Walnut. This omega is in new condition and it still has the original throwing instruction booklet attached at the elbow. This model has a flight range of 40+ metres and it is easy to throw and catch. This was one of Doug's most popular model, but it was manufactured in limited quantities.

Specifications: Right Handed ; Tip-to-tip Span = 33 cm ; Weight = 68 gm

Doug DuFresne was one of America's best known boomerang manufacturers in the 1980s and 1990s. Doug manufactured a line of high quality Birch plywood and strip laminated boomerangs that were consistently wonderful flyers. Most strip laminated boomerangs were made out of Cherry and/or Ash. The manufacturing tolerances were as tight as you would see on an automotive product. Doug stopped producing boomerangs in the late 1990s and the price of his boomerangs increased dramatically. Doug was one of America's top throwers and a member of the American boomerang team during the formation of the United States Boomerang Association. Doug was also active in the formulation of the USBA competition rule book in the mid 1980s.
