Tony Butz is one of Australia's best known throwers. He
has been active in the Australian tournament circuit for
approximately 30 years. Tony was a referee in the very first
international competition - the USA/Australia Challenge
Match in 1981. Tony makes a very limited number of
boomerangs. Most of the boomerangs that he makes are gifts
and are rarely offered for sale. This is a rare opportunity
to add one of Tony's boomerangs to your collection. This boomerang is a one of a kind signature boomerang,
perhaps of the most valuable signature boomerang that exist.
This is a large boomerang, made out of Coachwood plywood.
Two small paper flags, one for Australia and one for the
USA, are glued to the elbow with the words " 1981
Australia's Boomerang Cup " neatly printed between the
flags. The signatures of all competitors and referees are on
the upper surface. The American signatures are on the lift
arm and the Australian signatures are on the dingle arm. Australian signatures: Tony Butz, Brother Brian
Thomas, Dennis Maxwell, Morris Maxwell, Bunny Read,
Barrie Forsyth, Jack Byham, Rob Croll, Arthur
Janetzki, Les Janetzki, Chris Herzgen, Andrew
Travis & Chris Westall. American signatures: Carl Naylor, Lary Ruhf,
Peter Ruhf, Al Gerhards, Barnaby Ruhe, Doug
DuFresne, Ben Ruhe, Ali [Fujino] Miller,

The First International Boomerang Contest , Australia v.
U.S.A. 1981 for " Australia's Boomerang Cup " , Signed by
every member of both teams & the two referees , Made by
Tony Butz [signed] 1981 ( Australian Tournament
