This keyhole omega boomerang was made in 1985, Ben Ruhe purchased it in Paris and then brought it to the First World Cup to collect the signatures of all participants. The 1985 World Cup was held one year after the second USA/Aussie Challenge Match and participation was by invitation only. There were only 3 members on each team. Ben Ruhe sent it to me after the event ended. Both the top and bottom surfaces are covered with signatures of very famous boomerang throwers. This boomerang is an important piece of boomerang history and it is in like-new condition. I did test throw this boomerang at the time it was listed and found that it is a very good flyer with a flight range of 30-35 metres. It takes a hard throw and likes some wind for a full return. It likes about 45 degrees of layover. A fine collectible in excellent condition.
Jacques Beslot made a lot of high quality boomerangs in the 1980s. This included everything from basic plywood booms to strip laminated replicas of the Gerhards hooks. Many of these were copies of what other boom makers were producing, but Jacques also made some really nice boomerangs with his own design. Jacques labeled his boomerang products with gold lettering that said " Boomerang Fan ". |
