Steve Miller, a doctor from Seattle, Washington, was a
member of the USA Team that competed in the first
Australia/USA Challenge Match in 1981. Steve made very few
boomerangs and he never made boomerangs for sale to others.
Steve's boomerangs are exceedingly rare. They flew well and
he laminated thin veneers together to make his own plywood,
much in the same way as the Janetzki Brothers made their
boomerangs. Because of Steve's untimely death in 1985, only
a few of his boomerangs exist and these are in the throw
kits of his team mates from the early 1980s. This Steve Miller boomerang was made just before the
first USA/Australia Challenge Match. This boomerang is
signed and dated November 1981. The name " GWAHIR " is
neatly printed under Steve's signature. The boomerang is
made out of laminated veneers. The airfoil profiling is
excellent. This boomerang is in very good condition, except
for a small amount of chipping on the end of the dingle arm
tip. Larry Ruhf used this boomerang in the MTA event in the
second of three challenge matches to place fourth with a 19
second throw and catch.
