This beautiful Vee Lap Joint was made out of Cherry, Walnut and Maple in 1985. Both blades have 3 Walnut plugs near the tip. It has a simple V shape and it is a very nice flyer with a low and circular 30 metre flight. It is in new condition except for a dozen throws that I made to study its flight characteristics.
George Reitbauer was a top rated competition thrower in the early 1980s. He made both plywood and hardwood boomerangs. Everything he made was a fantastic flyer. George sort of dropped out in the mid 1980s when he moved to Australia in a teacher exchange program. I saw him at a couple of tournaments in the late 1980s, but nothing after that. His boomerangs are among my favorites to throw and collect. |
