This extreme range left handed boomerang was custom made for me out of 3 mm Paxolin by Volker in 1986. The dingle arm has a finger notch and the lift arm has two embedded lead weights. The upper surface is painted white with a red dingle arm tip. The reverse side is painted dark red. It is signed and dated 1986. The flight range is 120-150 metres. I visited Al Gerhards shortly after acquiring this boomerang and we went out for a toss one Fall afternoon. I could out throw anything he had using this boomerang, but it was short on a complete return in low wind conditions. I didn't have many fields that I could use it, so I retired it in 1987. It is in very nice condition with only light wear and no damage.

Specifications: Left Handed ; Tip-to-tip Span = 34 cm ; Weight = 76 gm

Volker Behrens was a well known commercial manufacturer of sporting and competition boomerang products. Volker was also a competitor and a member of the German International Boomerang Team. Volker was a pioneer in the development of long distance boomerangs and he demonstrated throws of 150 metres in the 1980s with his popular Challenger III Paxolin Hook. Volker made the last of his boomerang products in 2011 and he died in June, 2012. His boomerangs have become great collectibles because they are considered to be comparable to boomerangs made by Herb Smith.
