Ces Burwell was a well known boom maker and thrower in the 1940s - 1970s. He was a friend of Frank Donnellan and their boomerang designs have similar characteristics. Ces is also the father of Bob and Jack Burwell and the grandfather of Scott Burwell, all well known for their boomerang making and throwing skills. This large traditional boomerang was made in the late 1960s. It is stained dark brown and there is a thick coat of high gloss varnish or polyurethane over the entire surface. The underside of the elbow has hot poker lettering that says " Made By C. W. Burwell ". This boomerang is heavy and it takes a hard, high throw for best performance. The flight range is about 40 metres. This is a rare collectable boomerang and it is in mint condition. |
