Doug DuFresne was one of America's best known boomerang
manufacturers in the 1980s and 1990s. Doug manufactured a
line of the highest quality boomerangs produced anywhere in
the world. This include numerous models made out of plywood
and strip lamination of Cherry and/or Ash. Everything was a
great flyer and the manufacturing tolerances were as tight
as you would see on automotive products. Doug stopped
producing boomerangs in the late 1990s and the price of his
boomerangs increased substantially. Doug was also one of
America's top throwers and a boomerang team member in the
earlier days of the American movement. Doug was active in
formulating the competition rules for the USBA in the mid
1980s. This large omega was Doug's design for the Australian
Round event. This is a large omega best thrown by strong
teenage or adult throwers. A lot of competitors really loved
this one for it's stability in wind and large circular
flight with a small amount of hover at the end of the
flight. This particular Chinook was signed by almost
everyone who attended the 1992 USBA Nationals. This
competition was the 10th Anniversary of USBA events and a
lot of famous throwers competed in this event. Some of the
signatures on this boomerang include: Larry Ruhf, Al
Gerhards, Ben Ruhe, Michael "Gel" Girvin, Dennis Joyce, Rob
Parkins, Steve Cook, John Flynn, Eric Darnell, Norm Kern,
