Oscar Cuartas made beautiful muical instruments out of tropical hardwoods in his native Colombia from the 1940s until his death in 2005. Oscar also made a wonderful line of high performance boomerangs using the same tropical hardwoods and advanced woodworking skills that included feather lapping and bonding aluminum sheet to wood. Oscar won the coveted boomerang design award with one o fhis large Parrot hooks at the 1984 World Cup, beating out the Janetzki brothers. Cuartas boomerangs were marketed through the Boomerang Man throughout the 1980s and early 1990s. The earlier models made before1987 and with Aluminum cores, were not mass produced and these were the best performers. Some of these boomerangs may require fine tuning if they have been kept in storage and not thrown

This beautiful Omega was made in 1984 out of tropical hardwoods and with feather lapping on both the top and bottom. There is an Aluminal sheet in the core. I did not test throw this one, but this model is usually a good flyer with a flight range of 40-50 metres. This one looks solid and without unfavorable warpage. It is in near mint condition. There is a small blemish on the surface where a label was lifted, leaving a small section without a high gloss finish. A rare and excellent collectable.
