Ces Burwell was a well known boomerang maker and thrower in the 1940s - 1970s. Ces is the father of Bob Burwell, one of Australia's best known boomerang throwers and a top rated world competitor. Find out more about the Burwell family on Bob's web site: Historical Photographs of the Burwell Family.

This very large traditional boomerang was made in the early 1970s out of plywood. It was made with very long blades to give it higher inertia and better wind resistance, thus the name "Windcheater". It is identical to the boomerang made by Bob Burwell as Item BG31. It has the Burwell boomerang logo on the underside and a coating of high gloss varnish or polyurethane, top and bottom. The flight range is 30+ metres. This boomerang is in excellent condition. This is a very rare and collectable Burwell boomerang that originally came out of the Brother Brian M Thomas estate.
