John Cryderman is well known for his construction of
strip laminated boomerangs. Although John has many original
designs, he occasionally makes replicas of collectable
boomerangs that were previously made by other boomerang
manufacturers, but are no longer being manufactured. This
boomerang is a left handed replica of the famous Big "U"
that was originally made by Al Gerhards of Downington,
Pennsylvania. This boomerang originally cost $125 when it
was made in 1999 out of Ash wood strip laminations. It is
signed and dated on the reverse side of the elbow. This
boomerang is huge. It has a range of 70 - 80 metres and
looks awesome when it is flies in the air, giving the
illusion that it is travelling in slow motion because of
it's size. I have one of my own and have been successful in
catching this one on the return, but catching should be left
for only the brave and foolish. Be prepared to pay more than
normal for shipping this item to you, especially if you live
overseas.
