This item is a sling used to throw a projectile such as a stone. Herders throughout the world used this device to protect their flocks. This sling was made in the 1990s. It was collected by Ben Ruhe, a well known world traveler who previously worked at the Smithsonian Institution. The pouch is solid and diamond shaped. It is made out of bicolored wool which has a faint musk odor of the Yak. This sling is in excellent condition. It has light wear and it includes a wrist loop and a tuft at the other end to quiet the sound of the release. A very nice contemporary artifact.

Length = 213 cm ; Weight = 138 gm
