This large traditional boomerang was made by an Australian Aborigine in La Perouse in the early 1970s. This is a premium art boomerang made out of a light weight Acacia natural elbow. A friend from Panama was born in Australia and when she returned home for a visit in 1975, she purchased this boomerang as a gift. I only threw this boomerang a few times when she gave it to me and it is a true returner. It is a high flyer that makes a quick path reversal at the height of its flight and then has a gentle return flight. That was 40+ years ago. I have had it in storage since the initial throw to preserve the beautiful art on the upper surface. The underside has " 26" " stamped on the underside to indicate size. The boomerang is not signed, but it is one of the best I have seen coming from La Perouse and it is in excellent condition. |
