This large traditional boomerang was made by an Australian Aborigine named Joe Scheena in the early 1980s. This is a premium returner made out of a beautiful Black Wattle natural elbow with fiddleback grain and finished with a smooth glossy surface. Ben Ruhe sent this boomerang to me in 1985 to include in my catalog sales. I was so impressed with this boomerang, I bought it and kept it in my personal collection for the past 30+ years. Ben's letter with a description of the boomerang is included. The letter claims that the boomerang was made by an Aborigine named Joe Scheena (sp?) from the Brisbane area. It is supposed to be a good returner with a flight range of 60 metres. I found that it was a very nice flyer with a flight range of 50+ metres. A very nice collectible with good provenance and performance. |
