This large symmetrical hunting boomerang, or throwstick was made out of a Mulga natural elbow in Western Australia. Both the upper and lower surfaces are finely pecked using stone tools. This hunting boomerang is from the George Leavens collection. George acquired this throwstick in the 1950s when he was researching boomerangs for a photojournalism project. This throwstick is in very good condition with only minor tip abrasion.. |
