This lithic reproduction of an Agate Basin (Transitional Paleo to Early Archaic) or Hellgap (Late Paleo) Lanceolate (or a knife or dart point ) was made by Virgil Tonn, a rancher from Georgetown, just north of Austin, Texas. Virgil achieves the beautiful flake patterns by grinding down a blank to a perfect configuration and then he flakes it. This grinding technique was perfected by the ancient Egyptians, but not by Native Americans. Length = 98 mm ; Weight = 16 gm
