This magic stone was acquired in a Central Sepik River
Village in Papua New Guinea. The stone is circular and
appears to have echinoid or other fossils embedded within
the stone matrix. The stone is worn very smooth through
human handling. It is not a " found " artifact, but was
purchased directly from a native of the Sepik village. Stone
age men from this region used fossils for ritual purposes.
This stone just fills up your hand when it is held and is
rather appealing. It would also make a terrific
paperweight.
