This item is a sling used to throw a projectile such as a stone. Hearders throughout the world used this device to protect their flocks. This sling was made in the 1990s. It was collected by Ben Ruhe, a well known world traveller who previously worked at the Smithsonian Institution. The pouch is solid and diamond shaped. It is made out of bi-colored wool which has a faint musk odor of the Yak. This sling is in excellent condition. It has minimal wear and it includes the finger loop and tuft at the other end to quiet the sound of the release. A very nice contemporary artifact.

Length = 172 cm ; Weight = 58 gm
