This item is a contemporary split pouch sling made out of Camelid fibres in Peru. I purchased this sling at an auction in 1994. It was labeled as made out of Alpaca wool in the 1800s. It comes with a river stone that was used as ammo. The pouch is tied tightly to the stone to show how the split pouch cradles the stone during the release. I have kept it as it was purchased. I have never used it but it closely resembles modern slings that I have used, so I expect it to be a high performance sling. . This sling is very soft and strong. The only flaw I can see is a fray in the finger loop, so it may need reinforcing before using it. This is the type of sling that Peruvian shepards currently use to protect their flocks.

Length = 170 cm ; Weight = 224 gm
