This item is a very old Sepik culture dagger made out of a Cassowary leg bone in the 19th Century. I acquired this artifact from Ben Ruhe who often collected artifacts while traveling in this region. Ben had this artifact noted as being made out of an Emu leg bone. I think it was made out of a Cassowary leg bone because Emus are not found in New Guinea.

It is in very nice condition as shown in the photos. The bone has aged to a golden brown color. A very nice artifact from this culture.
