This strip laminated V was made in 1987 out of a large number of very thin veneers laminated across the blades. Volker wrote the names of the hardwood veneers are on the underside: Buche, Mahagony, Ahorn and Wenge. At least that is what I think his hand writing says.. This boomerang is signed, but not dated. I did not test throw this boomerang, but I have thrown others from this series and they are all very nice flyers. It probably has a flight range of 30-40 metres. It is in very good condition. There is one tiny chip on the leading edge of the lift arm that you can feel, but it is difficult to see. There are also some light scratches on the underside. You can remedy this easily by rubbing some Polyurethane liquid in the scratches and letting it dry. Volker considered this one to be one of his most prized boomerangs because he priced it at 140 Euros on his website.

Specifications: Right Handed ; Tip-to-tip Span = 36 cm ; Weight = 72 gm

Volker Behrens was a well known commercial manufacturer of sporting and competition boomerang products. Volker was also a competitor and a member of the German International Boomerang Team. Volker was a pioneer in the development of long distance boomerangs and he demonstrated throws of 150 metres in the 1980s with his popular Challenger III Paxolin Hook. Volker made the last of his boomerang products in 2011 and he died in June, 2012. His boomerangs have become great collectibles because they are considered to be comparable to boomerangs made by Herb Smith.
