In the early 1980s, Bryce Maskey of Australia made a selection of really nice art boomerangs in the shapes of various bird species, such as parrots, raptors and gulls. His boomerangs were well made out of quality Coachwood plywood. The outlines of the bird features are incised into the wood. Not many of these boomerangs were made and they have become good collectables. These boomerangs tend to be high flyers, but they are all good returners.

This bird art boomerang depicts a "Billabong Rosella" parrot. It was made in 1984 and is signed on the back with the bird species lettered on the underside of the elbow. The wood is colored with red, yellow and black stains and then protected with a coating of polyurethane. This boomerang is in excellent condition. I did throw this boomerang. It flies high as expected and is very accuarate with a 25 metre flight diameter.
