This traditional boomerang can be identified as made by Bluey Williams because it is made of Coachwood and it has his "signature" metal kangaroo glued to the upper elbow surface. The tips and elbow are lobed and thicker than the rest of the boomerang. There is probably lead foil under the heavy white paint. I did throw this one and it flies great with a flight range of 40+ metres. It takes a hard throw as expected. Bluey's boomerangs are very rare and present in only a few collections. This one is from the Brother Brian Thomas collection.

Specifications: Right Handed ; Tip-to-tip Span = 44 cm ; Weight = 102 gm

Bluey Williams was one of Australia's top competitors in the 1960s and early 1970s. His boomerangs always had a metal kangaroo glued to the elbow. Bluey won the World Championships at Swan Hill in the early 1970s. His nickname, Bluey, is Aussie slang for someone with red hair.
