Item PGV

The current price is listed on the Collectable Boomerangs link. Instructions for ordering can be found on the How to Order web page.

This art traditional was made by Jack Burwell out of 7.5 mm Aussie plywood in the 1960s. This is an early model in excellent condition and it is very rare, a must have if you collect boomerangs made by the Burwell family. The reverse side of the elbow is marked as" J. Burwell ". The upper surface of the elbow has art depicting an Aboriginal head. The words " Australian Aborigine " are written on the blades. The surface is recessed on the art, much like what Herb Smith did with his Geometric art. This boomerang is from the Burwell family collection. I obtained it from Jack's son, Scott Burwell, in 2005. A very nice collectible in excellent condition.

Specifications: Right Handed ; Tip-to-tip Span = 45 cm ; Weight = 110 gm

Jack Burwell is one of Australia's least known boomerang throwers. Jack is the son of Ces Burwell, who was a well known boomerang maker and thrower in the 1940s - 1970s. He is the brother of Bob Burwell and the father of Scott Burwell. All of Jack's other family members are well known in the boomerang community. Anything made by Jack is very rare.
