This is an early long distance hook made out of 4 mm Paxolin material and painted on both surfaces. Volker made this model in the 1980s and 1990s. This model has a flight range of 100 - 140 metres which used to win LD tournaments, but is less than the distances produced by Voyager hooks. This was my favorite LD boomerang. I could throw it in wind or calm with great results. You can add a lead weight to the lift arm tip to increase the flight range. This boomerang was owned by a collector and not thrown. It is in new condition.

Specifications: Right Handed ; Tip-to-Tip Span = 40 cm ; Weight = 110 gm

Volker Behrens was a well known commercial manufacturer of sport and competition boomerang products. Volker was also a competitor and a member of the German International Boomerang Team. Volker was a pioneer in the development of long distance boomerangs and he demonstrated throws of 150 metres in the 1980s with his popular Challenger III Paxolin Hook. Volker made the last of his boomerang products in 2011 and he died in June, 2012. His boomerangs have become great collectibles because they are considered to be comparable to boomerangs made by Herb Smith.
