This beautiful traditional boomerang was made by an Aborigine out of Mulga. In 1986, Peter Ruhf selected this boomerang as his best left handed Aboriginal returner ( Peter is left handed )and spent days decorating it in a combination of psychodelic and Aboriginal style art. This was part of a trade that the best manufacturers at the time did with each other in the mid 1980s. This boomerang is magnificent. It is an act of love and it has been an important certerpiece in my personal collection. I have not thrown it because I did not want to damage the art, but the iarfoiling looks great and their is no damage or major flaws to the natural Mulga elbow. A unique collectible from this very important boomerang competitor and craftsman.

Specifications: Left Handed ; Tip-to-tip Span = 52 cm ; Weight = 263 gm

Peter Ruhf was a strong competitor during the formation of the American boomerang movement. Peter was on most of the earliest boomerang teams. He is the nephew of Ben Ruhe and the twin brother of Larry Ruhf. Peter was involved in the early development of the long distance event and technology. Al Gerhards used Peter to test left handed Gerhards boomerangs. Peter is famous for setting a world record in Long Distance on the Guinness Book of World Records film clip, throwing against Bob Burwell in Australia. In the early 1980s, Peter developed the best flying American made MTAs. Peter contributed more to the boomerang movement than most and the low number of boomerangs that he made are good collectibles.
