This Australian Aboriginal clubwas made out of a heavy hardwood, probably Mulga. It has many shallow incised grooves running parallel to the axis of the club along the entire length. It is covered with Ochre, an iron pigment used on almost all Central Desert Aboriginal artifacts. This club is well made and in mint condition. It was probably made in the Central Desert region in the mid 1900s. I don't think it was ever used so it might be an early piece made for the tourist trade? A rather nice Aboriginal artifact in pristine condition.

Length = 66 cm ; Weight = 484 gm
